Be Alert: Heavy Rainfall Expected in These Pakistan Areas Again

Here’s the thing. More heavy rain is heading our way. And this time, the warnings are serious.

The Meteorological Department and NDMA both signal another round of heavy rain. It starts on August 29 and runs into early September. Wide areas of Punjab, KP, Sindh, Islamabad, Murree, Galliyat and Kashmir are on alert.

In Punjab, rivers like Ravi, Sutlej, and Chenab are already at exceptionally high levels. Flooding has displaced millions, wrecked crops, and thrown livelihoods off-balance. Schools closed in some districts. Relief camps are already running

In Karachi, the watch is on. NDMA forecasts urban flooding and power outages as more downpours strike from August 30 to September 2.

Out in KP, the prior flash floods in mid-August left a devastating trail. Over 300 lives lost across districts like Buner, Swat, Bajaur. Rescue efforts faced setbacks including a helicopter crash that killed five crew members. The ground is fragile. A repeat of heavy rain would only deepen the crisis.

Across Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, and northeast Punjab, the forecast warns of flash floods, landslides, and urban flooding between August 29 (night) and August 30

Meanwhile, Sindh especially cities like Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, Thatta, Badin faces extremely heavy rainfall. Officials expect 50–100 mm over a short window. That’s a big chunk of sky water, fast. Urban flooding risk goes up fast

So what this all means is simple: we have serious rain coming. Across Saudi Pakistan Punjab, Sindh, KP, Islamabad, the hills the system is charged. Rivers already full. Flowing rivers fed by dam releases and monsoon. The ground already drenched.

What you can do:
